SEO - Create My Mobile Website

For those of you that missed our last post, SEO stands for search engine optimization and is one of the major factors in your site being found on Google and Bing. The better your SEO, the higher you’ll rank in searches. Here are a few measures you can take into your own hands to help ensure your site gets found by your customers.

1) Create original content: It may seem a little obvious, but if you want your site to be found on Google, you have to have stuff on it. It’s also best if you don’t just copy from other people’s content or have a bunch of links leading away from your site (we’ll get to links in a minute). Google knows a lot about the internet and can tell if your content is unique to you. Finally that creative writing class they made you take in college comes in handy!

2) Use images properly: A picture is worth a thousand words…until it comes to SEO. Then it can depend. Just like your written content, it’s a good idea to use original images. It’s also a good idea to use ALT tags (which DudaOne gives you access to) so you can describe what is actually in the images to bots (what Google and Bing use to search your content). Also, when you upload files to your site, name the files for what they are and avoid using default names like “image01.jpg.”

3) Link to pages in your site: Search engine bots will follow links on your site, and since you want them looking at your content, it’s a good idea to use these links to direct them to other parts of your website. Internal linking also helps show search engines which pages you see as most important.

4) Customize per device:  Search engines care about the experience visitors receive on your website. It’s a good idea to add custom features that are designed for specific device types like desktop computers, tablets and smartphones. So be sure to take advantage of features like Click-to-Call and Duda’s coupon feature when editing your site for each device. Try to think about how your customers will be interacting with your website in different situations and what kind of information and experience you would want.

5) Keep it fresh: It’s important to refresh your website’s content on a regular or semi regular basis to keep it from going stale. Making the creation of new original content a priority can go a long way to keeping your website at the top of search results.

So there it is, as promised. Five top tips for improving your SEO. Keep in mind, this list isn’t the be-all and end-all of SEO strategy, but the topics we touched on are a great way to easily set yourself on the way to search engine greatness.

PS: While writing about how to lift your website higher and higher in search results, it brought this to mind...have a great day!
